On February 15, the delegation from University of Bordeaux composed of Professor Pascal Lecroart, Director of the Science and Technology College, Professor Jean-Jacques Ruch, Director of the School of Mathematical science, professor Qing Liu of Mathematics, professor Azaiez Mejdi of Mathematics, and Ms. Emilie Bourgois visited XMU School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS). On behalf of the school, vice dean, Professor Chuanju XU received the visit. Present at the event were faculty members from SMS and exchange student Philippe Laurent.

Professor Xu extended his warm welcome to the delegation. Both sides gave brief introductions to their schools. The meeting focused on the promotion of the SPECIFIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT FOR A DOUBLE MASTER’S DEGREE, which was signed in June, 2016.

With the arrival of the exchange student, Philippe Laurent from Bordeaux, and the plan to send another student to XMU in the next academic year, the main obstacle for the implementation of this program is to keep the balance of the mobility and to get XMU students involved in this program.

Dean of XMU School of Mathematical Sciences, Professor Yanan LIN says, measures including financial support, enhancement of announcement will be taken to spark the interest of XMU students to get more students involved in this program.
